NTPC commissions final 41.6 MW phase of its 176 MW Solar PV Project at Ramagundam

The NTPC Group’s total installed capacity has increased to 90,899 MW.

State-owned power major NTPC Ltd. has announced that the third and final 41.6 MW phase of its 176 MW Solar PV Project at Ramagundam has been declared commercially operational with effect from June 30, 2026. The first two phases, comprising 100 MW and 34.4 MW, had already commenced commercial operations on May 2 and May 29, 2026, respectively. With the latest commissioning, the entire 176 MW solar project is now fully operational.

Earlier, NTPC declared the commercial operation of Unit 2 (800 MW) of the Patratu Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) Phase-I (3×800 MW), being developed by its subsidiary Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (PVUNL). The unit commenced commercial operations from 00:00 hours on June 25, 2026, following its successful commissioning.

With the addition of the 800 MW thermal unit and the final 41.6 MW solar capacity, NTPC has added 841.6 MW of commercial generation capacity within five days. Following these developments, the NTPC Group’s total installed capacity has increased to 90,899 MW, while its commercial operating capacity stands at 89,819 MW, reinforcing the company’s leadership in expanding both conventional and renewable power generation assets across the country.
