ACME Solar signs 300 MW FDRE power purchase agreement with SECI

ACME Solar Holdings, through its subsidiary ACME Greentech Twenty, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the supply of 300 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE), backed by 1,200 MWh of energy storage capacity.

The agreement falls under SECI’s FDRE-IX tranche and carries a tariff of ₹6 per unit. Power supply is scheduled to commence on 6 April 2028, with the contract extending for 25 years from the scheduled commencement date.

Under the agreement, the project will deliver 4 MWh of energy per MW of contracted capacity daily for any four-hour period during non-solar hours, with a minimum monthly availability of 90%. ACME Solar will combine solar generation with battery energy storage system (BESS) technology to meet the assured peak power supply requirements. The project will also utilise the company’s night-time connectivity infrastructure.

With the signing of this PPA, ACME Solar’s under-construction contracted portfolio has increased to 4.31 GW, against a total under-construction capacity of 5.38 GW.

In a related development, ACME Solar recently commissioned an additional 107.36 MW/437.49 MWh of battery storage capacity across two projects in Rajasthan. Commissioning was completed on 30 September, and both facilities achieved commercial operation status on 2 October.

The first phase of the BESS project at Neemri village in Chittorgarh district is connected to the Neemuch substation and forms part of an FDRE project. The facility is expected to achieve full capacity within the current financial year and is backed by a 25-year PPA with a national renewable energy implementing agency.

At Kelan village in Bikaner district, the company commissioned an additional 53.63 MW/214.52 MWh of battery storage capacity connected to the Bikaner III substation, also under a 25-year agreement. The developments highlight ACME Solar’s continued expansion of energy storage infrastructure to support dispatchable renewable power and meet peak electricity demand beyond daylight hours.
